Total Fitouts Sydney South East recently completed a commercial fitness fitout for the Yoga Sports Centre, a serene haven located in the quiet suburb of Caringbah, New South Wales. The centre caters to the wellness needs of the community, offering a blend of retail space, a dedicated yoga and Pilates area, and a specialised hot yoga room.

The commercial interior design of the Yoga Sports Centre is a testament to tranquility and wellness, featuring a neutral colour palette that promotes relaxation. The commercial fitout is infused with a sense of calm through the use of arches and Venetian plaster on the walls, giving them a concrete-like, buffed-out appearance. The floors are adorned with hybrid vinyl timber, offering durability and warmth, while Bolon flooring was specifically chosen for its moisture-resistant properties within the hot yoga room, ensuring compliance with health standards. The reception area is highlighted by a curved counter covered in terracotta tiling, adding an earthy touch to the space.

The commercial fitness fitout encompassed a comprehensive scope, including a retail reception area, changing rooms with showers and toilets, a hot yoga room, and a Pilates room equipped with reformers. Unique design features were meticulously incorporated to enhance the functionality and aesthetics of the centre.

Brett Jones, Director at Total Fitouts Sydney South East said, “The hot yoga room, for instance, is fitted with specialised hot panels on the ceiling, and the ventilation system was carefully designed to meet compliance standards. The room is also waterproofed to prevent mould, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for clients.”

“Additionally, the retail space in the commercial fitness fitout features plasterboard walls with rough acrylic-rendered boxes, providing a textured, modern look.”

This commercial fitout was a collaborative effort with the design led by Watt Architecture, and the fitout completely by shopfit experts Total Fitouts Sydney South East. Despite challenges such as limited access to the space—being located on the second floor of a building with small stairs, necessitating all materials to be carried upstairs by hand—the team successfully navigated these obstacles. They also managed to align the commercial design within the client’s budget without compromising on quality. Special care was taken to ensure that the materials used in the hot yoga room were compliant with industry standards, addressing both the unique requirements of the space and the client’s vision.

The final result is a beautifully crafted yoga and wellness centre that embodies the essence of tranquility while offering a modern, inviting space for clients. The efficient use of space, combined with the neutral color palette and sophisticated design elements, creates a serene and welcoming environment, making Yoga Sports Centre a standout destination in Caringbah.
