AML 3D’s new commercial office fitout, located in North Plympton, is situated on a wide-set industrial street, a characteristic environment for a company deeply engaged in cutting-edge manufacturing and technology. Fitout by shopfit experts, Total Fitouts Adelaide Central, the space embodies the brand while maintaining the functionality of an office environment.
The project was executed by the commercial design team at Muse Design Studio, who worked closely with AML 3D and shopfit experts Total Fitouts Adelaide Central to ensure the design symbolically represented the company’s innovative work. The commercial fitout spans across two floors, designed to cater to both collaborative and private work needs. Downstairs includes a reception area, two meeting rooms, and one boardroom. Upstairs features a large open office work area, one meeting room, and three private offices.
AML 3D is a pioneer in the field of automated 3D printing, merging advanced welding science, robotics automation, materials engineering, and proprietary software to operate a sophisticated 3D printing system within a freeform environment. Their expertise allows them to produce intricate, high-quality metal parts for various applications.
The commercial interior design of AML 3D’s office is a blend of warm, organic, and industrial elements, embodying the company’s technological prowess and creative capabilities. The use of symbolic design elements was crucial in mirroring the company’s cutting-edge work in 3D printing and automation. Curved dowels and ceilings reflect the ability of AML 3D to create complex and intricate shapes using their technology.
Nella Abiad, commercial interior design at Muse Design Studio says, “The stainless steel reception material symbolises the metal materials used in AML 3D’s 3D printing processes. The use of timber offsets the industrial feel of stainless steel, creating a balanced, welcoming environment.”
The half-round Steccawood timber symbolises the curves that are integral to their work.
Nella continues, “Additionally, the fractured pinboard represents the innovative and flexible nature of AML 3D’s capabilities in moulding and shaping materials.”
