The Village Medical Practice, a transformative venture requested by clients Stuart and Elenore Arbuckle, was meticulously brought to life by the skilled fitout experts Total Fitouts Perth South. Nestled in the tranquil suburb of Harrisdale, Perth, this commercial medical fitout stands as a beacon of community health, blending seamlessly into the residential landscape.
At its core, The Village Medical Practice is not just a clinic; it’s a sanctuary for holistic well-being. Specialising in a range of medical services, from pathology to emergency treatment, the practice boasts a team of seven doctors, each with their own area of expertise. But what sets this practice apart is its commitment to fostering a warm, family-friendly environment, far removed from the sterile atmosphere typically associated with commercial medical facilities.
The scope of the commercial medical fit out was extensive, spanning across a spacious 403m2 area. Featuring nine consulting rooms, a pathology room, an emergency treatment area, staff facilities, and a welcoming reception area, every aspect of the practice was carefully considered to cater to the diverse needs of the community. The commercial interior design, conceived in-house, seamlessly translated the Arbuckles’ vision into reality, while meticulous attention to detail ensured compliance with health and safety regulations.
From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with a sense of warmth and familiarity. Gone are the cold, clinical tones replaced instead with a cozy ambience reminiscent of a Scottish highland retreat. Pictures adorn the walls, solid oak doors welcome visitors, and each doctor’s room exudes its own unique style and atmosphere.

An interactive area ensures that young visitors feel at ease, while a cozy electric fireplace adds to the homely ambience. Additionally, a community seating area and breastfeeding zone further contribute to the practice’s inclusive ethos.
Despite facing challenges with the commercial medical fitout, such as working through the Christmas break to meet the deadline and delays in the oak doors delivery, the project progressed smoothly, thanks in part to Stuart Organ, Director at Total Fitouts Perth South’s longstanding relationships with his trusted tradespeople.
In total, the project took approximately three weeks for commercial interior design, four weeks for approvals, and eight weeks for the commercial fitout, with the team working tirelessly to meet the deadline for opening. The end result is not just a medical practice; it’s a testament to the transformative power of design to create spaces that foster healing, community, and well-being.
